The School of Finance has been set for more than fifty years and was firstly awarded master and doctor degree of the field in China (1981). Researchers of this major have published more than 60 books and text books, about 240 papers and finished 28 academic projects successfully. There are 59 scholars in all, including 21 professors, 27 associate professors and 11 lecturers.

The School of Finance has two main research fields: Finance and Public Finance.

For Finance, there are five research directions. They are: Finance Theory and Policy Research, Commercial Bank Operation and Management, Security Capital Market and Venture Investment Insurance, Financial Engineering. On the finance theory and policy research, the school not only refers to the international experience but also bases it on domestic practice. Especially in the research of the impact of information technology and capital market on monetary policy, the school is on the edge. The research on commercial banks closely relates to the China 's banking system and the problems that might be incurred during the development. Methods are diversified in the research of financial engineering. Researchers are trying to apply the stochastic difference theory on risk management and investment theory.

For Public Finance, there are four research directions. They are: Theory of Public Finance and Fiscal Policy, Taxation Theory and Practice, Bond and Social Security, Modernization of Fiscal Taxation. On the research of public finance and fiscal policy, both eastern and western theories are combined. Fiscal policy and monetary policy are taken into considerable together.
