The Monetary Finance department of Renmin University of China has a history of 50 years, and it is the first group of Doctoral Station in the finance subject in china. In 1988 it is assessed as key subject of high education in china. These years the finance subject has made new progress in terms of academic team, research achievements, talents cultivation, courses construction and external exchange, it not only remains its academic advantages in the research fields of finance theory and policy, but also ranks in leading level in terms of its academic level and research achievements in many new research fields, such as security, capital market and venture capital. In the October of 2000, “the research center of China fiscal and finance policy” which is found by finance subject and public finance subject is confirmed as one of the 100 Education Department social science key research base, and in 2001 it is assessed as key subject in china again. The cultivation method of talents in the finance department consists of undergraduate cultivation and postgraduate cultivation. The first one produce talents who can take on practice work in finance and related industries, and the aim of cultivation is that through 4 years ' systematic and professional study, the students should master professional knowledge of finance major all-around. The students will have a good command of professional knowledge, and have a sense of responsibility so that the students could take on the business operation and management jobs and some risk-management positions involved. And after graduation, the students mainly work for major banks, insurance companies, security corporations, monitoring departments of the government, transnational companies, foreign-fund financial organizations, and financial agencies etc..  As for the graduates, the cultivating goal is to produce high-level financial talents. And these talents are good at the financial theories and doing research in an innovative and independent way. What ' more, they could take on the jobs such as financial business operation and management, financial theoretical studies and financial teachings. The graduates will mainly work in financial organizations, government, colleges, research institutes, relevant newspapers, and risk-management sections involved.
